A Bridge to Far!

Yes it is a bridge to far it seems!

Anne Webster, the National Party, and their Coalition partners in the LNP have let down the people of Swan Hill by failing to deliver on the long-promised new bridge over the Murray River. Despite a $60 million federal commitment, the project—meant to replace the outdated, single-lane Swan Hill Bridge built in 1896—remains stalled in the planning phase as of April 7, 2025. This critical infrastructure upgrade, vital for easing congestion, improving safety, and supporting freight and local traffic, has been bogged down by bureaucratic delays and heritage complications, with no construction in sight. The Coalition’s inaction has left the region saddled with a deteriorating bridge costing $1.5 million annually to maintain, betraying the needs of farmers, businesses, and residents who rely on this lifeline for their livelihoods and daily lives.

"Dr. Do Nothing", is an understatement.
